Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This role is essential in maintaining a productive kitchen environment while supporting the Head Chef in menu development and staff management. A strong background in food preparation and a commitment to excellence in hospitality are key to success in this position.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed to ensure high standards of food handling and safety.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to all food safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, assisting with ordering supplies as necessary.
- Help manage kitchen schedules, ensuring adequate staffing during peak hours.
- Support bartending duties when required, contributing to a seamless dining experience for guests.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food handling practices, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for cooking and creativity in food preparation.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in restaurant management preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Catering experience is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
