Intermediate Hydrotechnical Engineer

Location: Markham, Ontario (consideration for other Ontario locations). Role within Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec Environmental Services Business Line. Key Responsibilities

Develop hydrodynamic models using MIKE 3, MIKE21 and Telemac to support coastal and river engineering projects, including environmental impact assessments, remedial designs and risk evaluations. Apply hydrologic and hydraulic principles, with proficiency in HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS and PCSWMM. Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical findings and interpretations. Support proposal development and assist in creating work plans, project schedules and budgets, while managing assigned projects and tasks. Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a cohesive and productive work workplace. Demonstrate a solid understanding and consistent application of industry standards, guidelines and regulatory frameworks. Perform primarily office‑based work, involving extended periods of computer use and data analysis. Qualifications & Capabilities

Graduate degree in Engineering with a focus on hydrodynamics, water resources or hydrology. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in consulting or regulatory environments. Professional registration with PEO or PGO or eligibility to obtain P. Eng. or P. Geo. Mining experience is an asset, specifically mine water balances and mine water management. Regular use of hydrodynamic modeling tools. Work Environment

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: $94,600.00 – $137,100.00 annually (Lower Mainland BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario).
