Our client is a major player in the industrial sector, operating complex production facilities that rely on cutting-edge technology. They are currently seeking a dedicated Specialist Engineering I&C to join their Regional Automation - Network & Infrastructure Team based in Fort McMurray. This is an exciting opportunity to manage plant automation and process control networks, ensuring high reliability and cybersecurity in a sophisticated, safety-first operating environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Maintain plant automation and process control networks and firewalls in a complex operating environment, performing work on OT communication systems for both new installations, expansions, and infrastructure growth.

• Build, install, and commission new systems to support infrastructure growth, while executing daily system monitoring, scheduled preventative maintenance, and updating technical documentation.

• Troubleshoot system and network issues to provide effective solutions—including after-hours on-call support—while strictly adhering to safety policies in a safety-sensitive role.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

• Eight or more years of robust system administration experience in networks and firewalls, backed by a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Technology.

• Extensive experience configuring and supporting OT networking, firewalls, and implementing cybersecurity best practices in industrial operational technology environments.

• Hands-on field experience troubleshooting and implementing network equipment, along with the readiness to work a regular 40-hour Monday-to-Friday schedule at a site-based operation.
