The opportunity

We currently have an excellent career opportunity for a Tax Litigation Senior Associate. EY’s global alliance of independent law firms cooperate with our offices worldwide to provide our clients with integrated, quality service. Our award-winning tax planning, counsel and litigation teams offer a powerful combination of legal knowledge, experience and national presence to help organizations successfully navigate the complexities of Canada’s tax laws. Your key responsibilities

• Represent clients in tax controversy and dispute resolution matters involving federal and provincial tax authorities.
• Advise clients throughout the audit, objection, appeal, and litigation process.
• Prepare and review notices of objection, written representations, settlement proposals, and other litigation-related documents.
• Support and lead the management of tax litigation files before the Tax Court of Canada, Federal Court, and other administrative tribunals.
• Lead complex tax litigation mandates and oversee case strategy from audit through to resolution.
• Manage multiple client engagements, budgets, and project teams while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, government authorities, and external advisors.
• Support practice growth through business development and market visibility

Skills and attributes for success

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in income tax, sales tax, and other tax areas, with a strong focus on tax litigation.
• Proven track record in managing complex tax litigation cases and a deep understanding of Canada’s income tax, sales tax, and other Canadian tax systems.
• A member in good standing of the Law Society of your province of residence.
• Proficiency in English.
