Group Leader in Before/After School Programs

Lead young minds as a Group Leader in Before and After School Programs with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education. This versatile casual role emphasizes recreation, teamwork, and communication with elementary students. As an EXCEL Group Leader, you'll be pivotal in fostering a positive environment within Halifax Regional Municipality schools. This role calls for candidates with experience in childcare and recreational programming. The position spans five days each week, with flexible hours starting from 7:30 AM for morning shifts and around 2 PM for afternoon shifts. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate enjoyable recreational programming for children
- Communicate effectively with students and colleagues
- Collaborate with your team to ensure a nurturing environment
- Promote children’s development and interests
- Be present 30 minutes before school ends
- Minimum one year of experience working with elementary students
- Knowledge of recreational programming concepts
- Strong communication abilities
- High School Completion Certificate or equivalent
- Ability to be a team player
