Job Title: Fatherhood Engagement Lead Full-Time | 1-Year ContractCalgary, Alberta
A charitable organization is looking for a Fatherhood Engagement Lead; a strong male role model, connector, and advocate to lead external engagement efforts that empower fathers and strengthen families.
This is not a traditional service delivery role. You'll work in the community, building partnerships, shaping father-inclusive programming, and helping systems better support men in parenting, mental health, and violence prevention.
Key Responsibilities
1. Community Engagement & Partnership Building
- Build relationships with professionals, agencies, and grassroots organizations to expand father-focused support and awareness.
- Facilitate conversations and training on healthy masculinity and father inclusion using models like Safe & Together and Caring Dads.
- Help promote and adapt male-engagement programs
2. Program Strategy & Resource Development
- Capture learnings from past work (Fathering for the Future) and help develop toolkits, scalable models, and outreach strategies.
- Co-create new content and engagement resources for broader use.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Fund Development
- Work with leadership to engage partners, funders, and donors in supporting fatherhood initiatives.
- Represent the organization at events, networking sessions, and community tables.
- Share impact stories that help mobilize support and deepen engagement.
4. Evaluation & Learning
- Help track and communicate the impact of father engagement work.
- Contribute to reporting, storytelling, and presentations to community and sector partners.
Who You Are
- A father or father figure with lived or professional experience supporting other men
- A relationship builder and natural communicator
- Passionate about equity, prevention, and positive masculinity
- Comfortable with public speaking, facilitation, and community partnerships
- Interested in systems change, not just frontline delivery
Assets
- Experience in community development, systems work, or violence prevention
- Background in nonprofit work, outreach, or lived experience in underserved communities
- Familiarity with trauma-informed, culturally safe approaches
