Counter Sales Associate (Building Materials)

Job Responsibility:
About the Position:
The Counter Sales Associate will be the subject matter expert proving a customer centric experience for all customers visiting the contractor desk. As a Counter Sales Associate, it is expected that you will provide a fast and friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their immediate needs. In this capacity, you have an in-depth product knowledge of the Company's product portfolio, providing information on product features and benefits and associated accessories.
Relevant Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years experience within the construction building material and retail industry; construction industry
- Strong English communication skills required
- Excellent teamwork and inter-personal skills
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and organizing merchandise
- Upsell/cross-sell
- Suggest related items/services that customer may need
- Identify customer needs and cultivate effective sales strategies to connect with them through various products and materials offered
- Assess the customer's need for loading assistance, taking into consideration the merchandise being purchased as well as other environmental factors.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lifting or moving up to 35lbs may be required
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred in a similar industry
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
