THE GIG, IN A NUTSHELL
The Communications and Media Coordinator supports the CMF’s communications activities by coordinating the CMF's media monitoring, translation services, and internal/external communications initiatives, including production of daily media reports, industry newsletters, and content that supports stakeholder engagement and organizational visibility, alongside general team support. Through strong writing, organization, attention to detail, and proactive follow-up, the position helps ensure the timely delivery of clear, engaging, and high-quality communications.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Media Monitoring & Reporting
• Monitor and track traditional and digital media coverage relevant to the CMF, funded projects, and the Canadian screen-based industry.
• Produce and distribute a tri-weekly bilingual media report summarizing key news, industry developments, stakeholder activity, and media mentions.
• Maintain media tracking databases and prepare monthly and annual reporting on media coverage, trends, and visibility metrics.
• Track awards, nominations, and recognition received by CMF-funded projects and compile data for organizational reporting.
Translation Coordination
• Coordinate all organizational translation requests, ensuring timely delivery of English-to-French and French-to-English content.
• Manage relationships with freelance translators and external language service providers.
• Maintain translation schedules, workflows, and priorities across departments to meet competing deadlines.
• Review and coordinate translated materials to ensure consistency, quality, and brand standards.
Newsletter & Content Coordination
• Work with the Senior Manager, Communications to coordinate the planning, production, and distribution of industry newsletters.
• Gather content from stakeholders across CMF, draft newsletter articles, announcements, and feature stories.
• Manage newsletter production schedules and publication calendars.
• Support content publishing across digital channels, including website updates and communications materials.
• Draft, edit, and proofread a variety of communications products including staff communications, website content, executive messaging, and promotional materials.
Communications Projects & Stakeholder Support
• Support communications initiatives, campaigns, publications, reports, and events from planning through execution.
• Coordinate creative assets with agencies, designers, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain CMF image and content libraries for communications use.
Administrative & Operational Support
• Coordinate communications department invoicing, vendor payments, and budget tracking.
• Manage shared communications inboxes and route inquiries appropriately.
• Schedule meetings and provide administrative support to the Communications team as required e.g. planning annual team retreats
• Track contracts, purchase orders, and external vendor relationships related to communications activities.
WHO YOU ARE
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Arts Administration, or a related field.
Experience
• 2-4 years of experience in communications, media relations, public affairs, marketing, content development, or a related role.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience preparing communications materials, newsletters, reports, website content, or stakeholder communications.
• Experience working with external vendors, service providers, or creative partners is considered an asset.
• Experience supporting bilingual communications and translation processes is considered an asset.
Knowledge/Ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French is required.
• Knowledge of communications principles, content development, media monitoring, and stakeholder engagement practices.
• Knowledge of digital communications channels, newsletters, website content management, and social media best practices.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of the Canadian screen-based industry, media sector, or cultural sector is an asset.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and newsletter software is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
WHAT TO EXPECT

DESCRIPTION DU POSTE
Le/la coordonnateur·trice des médias et des communications soutient les activités de communication du Fonds des médias du Canada (FMC) en coordonnant la veille médiatique, les services de traduction et les initiatives de communication internes et externes du FMC, notamment la production de rapports médiatiques quotidiens, d’infolettres sur l’industrie et du contenu visant à favoriser la mobilisation des parties prenantes et la visibilité de l’organisation, tout en apportant un appui général à l’équipe. Grâce à ses solides compétences rédactionnelles, à son sens aigu de l’organisation, à son attention particulière aux détails et à un suivi proactif, le/la titulaire de ce poste contribue à garantir la diffusion en temps voulu de publications limpides, captivantes et de grande qualité.
VOS FUTURES TÂCHES
Veille médiatique et rapports
• Suivre la couverture des thèmes pertinents pour le FMC, des projets financés et de l’industrie canadienne des écrans dans les médias traditionnels et numériques.
• Produire et diffuser, trois fois par semaine, un rapport médiatique bilingue résumant les principales nouvelles, les actualités de l’industrie, les activités des parties prenantes et les mentions dans les médias.
• Tenir à jour les bases de données de suivi médiatique et préparer des rapports mensuels et annuels sur la couverture médiatique, les tendances et les indicateurs de visibilité.
• Assurer le suivi des remises de prix, des mises en nomination et des distinctions reçues par les projets financés par le FMC, et compiler les données en vue de la production des rapports organisationnels.
Coordination des services de traduction
• Coordonner toutes les demandes de traduction au sein de l’organisation, en veillant à la livraison dans les délais des traductions de l’anglais vers le français et du français vers l’anglais.
• Collaborer avec les traducteur·trices pigistes et les cabinets de services linguistiques externes.
• Assurer le suivi des calendriers de traduction, des flux de travail et des priorités entre les différents services afin de respecter les échéances.
• Réviser et coordonner les documents traduits afin d’en garantir la cohérence, la qualité et le respect des normes de la marque.
Infolettre et coordination du contenu
• Collaborer avec le chef principal des communications afin de coordonner la planification, la production et la diffusion des infolettres sur l’industrie.
• Recueillir du contenu auprès des parties prenantes de l’ensemble du FMC, rédiger des infolettres, des annonces et des articles.
• Gérer les échéanciers de production et les calendriers de publication des infolettres.
• Assurer la publication de contenu sur les canaux numériques, y compris les mises à jour du site Web et les documents de communication.
• Rédiger, réviser et relire diverses communications, notamment les communiqués destinés au personnel, le contenu du site Web, les messages de la direction et le matériel promotionnel.
Projets de communication et soutien des parties prenantes
• Appuyer les initiatives de communication, les campagnes, les publications, les rapports et les événements, de la planification à la mise en œuvre.
• Coordonner les éléments créatifs avec les agences, les concepteur·trices et les parties prenantes internes.
• Tenir à jour les bibliothèques d’images et de contenu de FMC à des fins de communication.
Soutien administratif et opérationnel
• Coordonner la facturation du Service des communications, les paiements aux fournisseurs et le suivi du budget.
• Gérer les boîtes de réception communes du Service des communications et transmettre les demandes de renseignements aux bonnes personnes.
• Planifier les réunions et fournir un soutien administratif à l’équipe des communications selon les besoins, par exemple en organisant les retraites annuelles de l’équipe.
• Assurer le suivi des contrats, des bons de commande et des relations avec les fournisseurs externes liés aux activités de communication.
VOTRE PROFIL
Scolarité
• Baccalauréat en communication, en relations publiques, en journalisme, en marketing, en administration des arts ou dans un domaine connexe.
Expérience
• De deux à quatre ans d’expérience dans les domaines des communications, des relations avec les médias, des affaires publiques, du marketing ou de la création de contenu, ou dans un poste connexe.
• Expérience en coordination de plusieurs projets aux diverses échéances dans un environnement où les activités se déroulent à un rythme rapide.
• Expérience dans la préparation de documents de communication, d’infolettres, de rapports, de contenu pour sites Web ou de publications destinées aux parties prenantes.
• Expérience de collaboration avec des fournisseurs externes, des prestataires de services ou des partenaires de création (atout).
• Expérience dans le soutien aux communications bilingues et aux processus de traduction (atout).
Connaissances et compétences
• Excellentes habiletés en communication orale et écrite, en français et en anglais.
• Connaissance des principes de communication, d’élaboration de contenu et de veille médiatique, ainsi que des pratiques de mobilisation des parties prenantes.
• Connaissance de la gestion des canaux de communication numériques, des infolettres et de contenu de sites Web, ainsi que des pratiques exemplaires en matière de médias sociaux.
• Maîtrise approfondie des applications Microsoft Office, en particulier Outlook, Word, Excel et PowerPoint.
• Connaissance de l’industrie canadienne des écrans, du secteur des médias ou du secteur culturel (atout).
• Bonne connaissance des outils de veille médiatique et des logiciels de création d’infolettres (atout)
• Sens de l’organisation poussé, souci du détail et capacité à gérer des priorités concurrentes.
