Organization Details Organization Name: Ted's Run for Literacy Address: Winnipeg MB Website: Organizational Description: Ted's Run for Literacy was established in 2010 following the death of Ted Swain on May 3rd, 2009. Ted was a passionate teacher of English at Vincent Massey Collegiate in Winnipeg. He was also a dedicated running coach who nurtured hundreds of novice runners. Ted is remembered fondly by the running community with whom he identified to his last step. To date, Ted's Run for Literacy has raised almost $100,000 to help break the cycle of childhood poverty. We are indeed, the little race that could. Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 6397 Description of Duties:
Be a part of an enthusiastic group of volunteers to assist in keeping participants of Ted's Run for Literacy safe, going in the right direction and motivated along the course!
There are multiple roles available to be stationed along the course to guide runners along the course, direct car traffice, report potential accidents or hazards and cheer on the participants; or hand out water and cheer on participants; or be a bike rover to ride your own bike through the course to check on volunteers, report any hazards and pickup volunteer vests at the end of the race; or help with the setup and take-down of infrastructure for the race.

- Ability to be clear in giving directions with your body and verbally.

Will be required to attend Ted's Run for Literacy on October 4th in Kildonan Park from about 08:30am until 11:00am. You will be responsible for transportation to and from Kildonan Park.
