Director of Athletics and Recreation Guelph

Enhance high-performance sports at the University of Guelph as the Director, Student Athlete Experience and High-Performance Sport beginning late Summer 2026. Your leadership will focus on student wellbeing and athletic excellence. In this pivotal role, you will establish and implement a high-performance sport model that aligns with institutional priorities and standards of OUA and U SPORTS. You will develop key policies and frameworks while managing a diverse coaching team. Significant collaboration with university stakeholders is necessary to elevate athlete support systems and improve program visibility. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee development and implementation of sport models
- Create policies ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Manage and mentor a diverse coaching team
- Foster partnerships within and outside the university
- Administer budgets aligned with strategic athletic objectives
- Management-level experience in athletics and coaching
- Deep knowledge of OUA and U SPORTS policies
- Strong leadership skills in equity and inclusion
- Proven financial management and decision-making capability
- Experience ensuring student safety and wellbeing
