ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a Driver Services Manager to join our team in Sault Ste. Marie, reporting to the Director, Human Resources. The core responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

• Oversee Driver Training program and lead Driver Training team to ensure training requirements are met
• Develop and maintain driver training materials in specific areas such as but not limited to defensive driving, trip inspection, delivery of product, spill response and tank safety
• Update and maintain the Commercial Vehicle Operators Registration (CVOR) for the company
• Audit compliance in various government regulations impacting transportation sector (i.e. Highway Traffic Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods etc.)
• Investigate highway traffic act tickets and work with paralegal services to mitigate infractions to CVOR
• Develop and maintain work instructions or policies regarding driver work activity, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation in partnership with other departments such as fleet, health and safety and operations.
• Assist with the management of fuel supply terminal relationship to ensure training and corrective action are followed and company training meets requirements
• Communicate and report important updates regarding training and compliance updates
• Participate in monthly operations and health and safety meetings
• Perform other duties as required

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5 years of experience within the bulk transportation industry
• Previous experience with Ministry of Transportation would be considered an asset
• Clean Driver's Abstract and CVOR
• Safety and compliance experience relative to transportation industry
• Knowledge of Highway Traffic Act, Ministry of Transportation regulation and safety legislation requirements
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong written, verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible work schedule to accommodate training needs with ability to travel
