Senior Security Systems Installation Technician

Role Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Systems Technician with expertise in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of advanced alarms security systems, access control and CCTV camera systems. This role is ideal for a professional with deep technical knowledge and a proven track record of delivering reliable security infrastructure solutions. As a senior technician, you will be responsible for leading the setup and upkeep of CCTV, Alarm Systems, Access Control, and related electronic systems. You will ensure seamless integration with network infrastructure and provide troubleshooting support to guarantee optimal performance. Responsibilities • Install, configure, and maintain security systems including CCTV, intrusion detection systems, and access control within industry standards and manufacturer specifications. • Perform cabling, wiring, and terminations for new and existing installations as per current industry standards. • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues. • Conduct system testing, calibration, and performance verification. • Integrate security systems with IT and network infrastructure. • Perform site surveys to assess security requirements and develop customized solutions tailored to clients' needs. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to coordinate installation schedules and ensure timely completion of projects. • Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and end-users. • Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and preventive maintenance activities. • Stay current with emerging security technologies and industry best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications • 5+ years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining CCTV, alarm, and access control systems. • Strong proficiency in cabling, system integration, and networking fundamentals. • Experience with IP-based security systems and related software platforms. • Solid understanding of networking basics; Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals. • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and technical aptitude. • Valid driver’s license with flexibility to travel to job sites as required. • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project needs or respond to emergency calls. • Working at Heights, Elevated Platform, Ladder Safety, WHMIS, First Aid)• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field/ equivalent certification preferred. • CCTV Technician, Access Control Professional (ACP), Alarm Technician Certification (ATC)) along with safety certifications considered an asset. • Additional training (e.g., IHSA Supervisor, Belden) is an advantage Security and Safety Requirements • Bondable with Criminal Record Check • Must have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record Wages & Benefits • Competitive salary commensurate with experience. • Paid time off and holiday pay. • Company vehicle and company cell phone. • Health, dental, and vision insurance benefits after successful completion of probation period.
