Our Client is a highly regarded law firm with a strong practice in plaintiff tort and accident benefits matters. They're looking for an experiencedLaw Clerk to join their team, ideally someone with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, who knows the ins and outs of plaintiff-side files and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Salary: Up to $75K

Location: Toronto (Hybrid Remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of plaintiff tort and accident benefits files from intake through to resolution
• Assist lawyers with all aspects of litigation and file management
• Draft and prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, mediation materials, and other legal documents
• Coordinate discoveries, examinations, mediations, motions, and other litigation dates
• Maintain limitation dates, deadlines, calendars, and follow-up systems
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, insurance companies, experts, and other third parties
• Prepare and organize productions, undertakings, medical records, and other relevant documentation
• Assist with settlement preparation and reporting
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical files
• Provide general support to lawyers and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Law Clerk in plaintiff tort and accident benefits
• Strong understanding of Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and litigation processes
• Experience managing plaintiff-side litigation files independently
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client-service skills and a professional, personable approach
• Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team player
• Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office
• Law Clerk designation or relevant legal education is an asset
