Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for supportive housing programs, ensuring quality, participant-centered service delivery.
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff, including recruitment, scheduling, performance management, and training.
- Oversee participant admissions, service planning, crisis response, and coordination of supports and community resources.
- Monitor program budgets, operational resources, reporting requirements, and facility needs.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, service providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Promote safe environments through risk management, incident review, emergency preparedness, and workplace safety practices.
- Support culturally safe, trauma-informed, and harm reduction approaches that promote participant wellbeing and housing stability.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, Psychology, Community Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in supportive housing, social services, community health, or residential care settings.
- Knowledge of housing systems, mental health, addictions, homelessness, trauma-informed practice, FASD, and Indigenous approaches to healing and wellness.
- Knowledge of applicable provincial legislation and licensing requirements.
- Experience supervising staff and managing program operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience supporting vulnerable populations impacted by trauma, addiction, mental health challenges, violence, homelessness, or justice involvement.
- Motivated to rise to the challenge of accommodating Oshki-Giizhig’s vulnerable participants in a way that is safe and supportive.
This position may require evening, weekend, and on-call availability and a combination of office, residential, and community-based work settings.
Additional Requirements: Criminal Record Check (With Vulnerable Sector Search), Adult Abuse Registry Check, Child Abuse Registry Check. Driver license and access to transportation. Applicants must have MPI 2 million-liability insurance.
