Healthcare Patient Watch – On Call

About the Position

We are seeking reliable, compassionate, and attentive individuals to work at healthcare facilities throughout Calgary and surrounding areas, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.

Patient Watch Professionals provide continuous observation of assigned patients to help maintain their safety and well-being. This role requires patience, professionalism, strong communication, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

This is an On Call position working a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation, alternating between 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts .

Position Details

• On Call position
• $10.00 per hour when scheduled on call but not dispatched
• $19.00 per hour when dispatched to a site
• 4 days on, 4 days off rotation
• Alternating between 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts
• Security licence is not required

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of assigned patients.
• Monitor patient behaviour and identify potential safety concerns.
• Communicate patient concerns or changes in behaviour to healthcare staff.
• Respond appropriately to patient needs while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
• Document and report incidents and observations as required.
• Follow site-specific procedures and patient safety protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and treat all individuals with dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful or unpredictable situations.
• Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
• Adaptable and able to respond appropriately to changing situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a physically and emotionally demanding environment.
• Ability to work the required 4 days on, 4 days off rotating day and night schedule .

Nice to Have

• Previous customer service experience.
• Previous healthcare, caregiving, patient support, or security experience.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
