Position

Within mortgage banking, there is an opening for a Corporate Mortgage Accountant. This position will provide accounting support for Firm Capital's various mortgage investments.

What you need to succeed

· Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience, preferably in mortgage finance, financial services, and/or real estate;

· University degree in accounting, finance or business;

· Preferred candidate will have the CPA accounting designation;

· Strong technical skills and thorough knowledge of IFRS;

· Proficient in Windows and MS Office (extensive experience using Excel);

· Experience with Yardi Voyager an asset;

· Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities, develop plans and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment;

· Strong verbal and communication skills;

· Fluency in English (written and oral) required;

· Strong analytical or problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail; and

· A results-driven self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and as part of a large team.

Your new role

· Manage full cycle accounting for a TSX listed public entity and other investment capital pools, including processing payments for funding and discharges, dividend distribution, and other operational matters;

· Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages including bank and investment portfolio reconciliations, and making required adjusting journal entries to ensure accuracy of general ledger;

· Coordinate with external stakeholders to provide supporting documents for year-end reviews and audits;

· Coordinate with senior management to perform cash management. This includes, but is not limited to, purchasing banker acceptance and preparing daily cash forecast;

· Provide decision making support to senior management; and

· Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
