Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Finance Operations, the Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting and finance operations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger in compliance with IFRS reporting standards.


• Facilitate wire transfers and EFT payment processing and assist with cheque deposit activities.


• Perform daily reconciliations of bank accounts and weekly GL reconciliation.


• Prepare and submit monthly regulatory filings to OSFI.


• Analyze and report on monthly bank fees.


• Prepare broker compensation reports, coordinate payment remittances, and manage the commission mailbox while maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.


• Provide cross-functional support and backup coverage for team members as required.


• Assist with month-end close activities, including booking employee expense accruals, year-end audits, and quarterly reviews.


• Support internal and external stakeholders by preparing information and analysis for ad hoc requests


• Administer the travel and expense management system, including employee onboarding and offboarding, user access management, expense report processing, corporate credit card administration, user training, troubleshooting, and ongoing employee support.

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree, Diplomas & Certifications:

• The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business and/or equivalent work experience


• Performs work under minimal supervision

Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job:  

• The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience including superior Microsoft Excel skills.


• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.


• Ability to learn quickly and to work under tight deadlines.


• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Alteryx is an asset.


• The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and exceptional organization and time management skills.
