Project Associate, Facilities Engineering (London)

Project Associate, Facilities Engineering – Temporary Full Time, Salary: $32.45–$38.19 per hour, St. Joseph’s Hospital, London, ON. One opening, anticipated to extend to February 26, 2027.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Coordinator of the Facilities Planning and Development team, you will assist with departmental projects and initiatives, focusing on project management of facilities and construction projects of various sizes. You will lead smaller projects and support other departmental responsibilities, including the use of the department’s TIFM software application (Archibus FM). Projects will largely involve renovations of varying sizes. Your problem‑solving abilities and strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to coordinate project details and implementation with the team, St. Joseph’s staff, consultants and others.

Essential Qualifications

• Diploma in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in project management, managing institutional projects; experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Experience operating and maintaining project‑tracking systems, cost programs, scheduling software and office software applications.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, design, development, functional programming and data collection.
• Strong familiarity with AutoCAD and experience operating database management, MS Word, MS Excel and a variety of general office software.
• Excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills.
• Good project management and detailed construction knowledge, along with conflict resolution and awareness.
• Ability to investigate, analyze project scope and prepare required drawings and documents including cost estimates.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate project details and implementation with SJHC staff, consultants and contractors.
• Robust working knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, CNSC, ASHRAE standards and applicable CSA/CAN standards for health care facilities (asset).
• Knowledge of a safety culture in a health care setting in compliance with OHSA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Architecture (AAO), Engineering (PEng); related experience.
• Experience in Archibus FM, space design, project tracking and data collection (asset).
• Previous work experience (including co‑op) and familiarity with the health care setting (asset).
• Designation from an accredited professional organization (Project Management Institute, Building Owners & Managers International, Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario, Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, Ontario Association of Architects, or Professional Engineer).
• Proficiency in French (asset).

Immunization Requirements

• Vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), hepatitis B, COVID‑19 and influenza.
• Documentation of tuberculosis skin testing.
