Corporate Development Coordinator

Second Step Capital is a new venture created by experienced M&A and operations professionals. The goal of the venture is to acquire a manufacturing company in the GTA / Southern Ontario area to grow over the long-term. This role will be the first salaried position in the company and will work directly with the CEO and COO. The right person to succeed in this role is looking for a fast-paced environment where there is the proper support to learn the industry and yet the boundless freedom that comes with new ventures.

Key Responsibilities

• Industry Research: learning about new industries by reading various reports, discussing with industry specialists, and reviewing materials available on the internet
• Client Introductions: Introducing our firm to potential clients or investors by sharing emails with new firms. Scheduling the resulting meetings and required materials
• Networking: growing the company’s professional network by attending events or scheduling and coordinating the CEO / COO to attend events.
• Tracking: creating visibility in the organization by maintaining metrics on all key initiatives

Requirements

• Located in Ontario: preferably in or around the GTA.
• Organized: manages several workflows at the same time with the utmost precision and adherence to the company policies.
• High EQ: reads the room and situations well. Understands the subtle communication that goes beyond the words spoken.
• Independent / Self-Starter: will be asked to chase down projects and push objectives forward without constant supervision.
• Ability to Travel / Driver’s License Required: While many days will have flexible remote work, some days will require travel to locations using a vehicle or potentially public transport
• Phone Calls: While you will not be asked to make endless cold calls, you will be required to call business contacts from time to time to help move processes forward.

Salary Range: $70k to $80k annually
