Our client, a premier financial institution in Canada, is seeking three Business Analysts II to join their team for a 12-month contract with a high likelihood of extension or conversion.
In this role, you will work within Enterprise Compliance to strengthen data management initiatives, focusing heavily on regulatory compliance, data governance, and Data Retention and Disposition (DRD) remediation. This is a hybrid position operating out of downtown Toronto, requiring 4 days per week in the office during standard core business hours.

As a Business Analyst II, you will join a collaborative project team dedicated to strengthening data management practices across Enterprise Compliance. You will partner closely with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve data retention and disposition gaps, ensuring organizational practices align seamlessly with enterprise data management standards, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
This position is ideal for an organized analyst with 2 to 4 years of experience who thrives at the intersection of data governance, process mapping, risk identification, and project support.

Responsibilities
•Data Governance & Retention Support: Assist with Data Retention and Disposition (DRD) remediation activities, ensuring all data is maintained in compliance with enterprise policies, standards, and guidelines.
•Requirements & Process Mapping: Assess and document DRD requirements, assist in developing data management procedures, and support the identification, inventorying, and cataloging of existing data assets.
•Manual Data Execution: Execute manual steps for data disposition and maintain detailed records/evidencing for compliance purposes.
•Risk Identification & Project Tracking: Monitor project timelines, identify and escalate data/project risks, and maintain detailed documentation on open issues.
•Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional peers, internal compliance teams, and external partners to deliver project goals.
•Reporting & Collaboration: Utilize Confluence and Excel to track project milestones, generate analytics, and report on remediation progress.

Qualifications
•Education: Undergraduate degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
•Experience: 2 to 4 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst with a strong focus on governance, change management, or data management.
•Governance Expertise: Direct experience working within data governance frameworks or compliance environments.
•Technical Tools: Advanced proficiency in Confluence for documentation/collaboration and Excel for data analytics and reporting.
•Project Tracking: Proven track record in project execution, including tracking timelines and proactively identifying/mitigating risks.
•Soft Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder management capabilities, and the self-motivation required to work independently.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
•Experience working within a Financial Institution (FI) or banking environment.
•Deep understanding of data controls, compliance, and regulatory rules surrounding data privacy and retention.
