We are seeking an AML Business Analyst II on behalf of our client, a major financial institution located in downtown Toronto. This role supports the Global Sanctions & FCRM team in conducting critical risk assessments and screening against various watchlists and risk flags to ensure compliance and mitigate financial crime.
This position offers a hybrid schedule, comprehensive onboarding, and formal job-specific training within a collaborative team environment. While initially a short-term contract to support business needs, there is potential for extension or conversion based on performance and ongoing requirements.

Responsibilities
•Support screening processes against various watchlists, sanctions, and risk flags.

•Perform analysis and investigation into Adverse Media, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), and Money Service Businesses (MSBs).
•Handle internal interactions to resolve screening cases and manage sensitive customer data securely.
•Consistently meet operational targets, including daily/monthly SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards.
•Pivot efficiently between tasks in a dynamic environment, attending key team meetings as required (~1 hour/week).

Qualifications
•2+ years of AML experience (3 to 4 years preferred).
•Hands-on experience with Adverse Media screening.
•Strong background and working knowledge of PEPs and MSBs.
•Previous experience with screening processes and operational workflows within financial services.
•Post-secondary education preferred.
•Strong written and verbal communication, high attention to detail, and top-tier time management skills.
•Adaptable, proactive self-starter with a strong willingness to learn.
Certifications:
•ACAMS certification is considered a strong asset (Nice-to-Have).
•Prior banking or financial institution experience is considered a strong asset.
