About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As an Engineer, Site Projects - Geotechnical , you play a critical role in managing geohazards across site operations, including the access road, quarry operations, and the Waste Rock and Tailings Storage Facility (WRTSF), ensuring geotechnical risks are proactively identified and controlled. Your expertise supports monitoring, risk management, and project delivery to ensure safe operations, infrastructure stability, and regulatory compliance.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

• Identify, assess, and manage geohazard risks across site operations, including the access road corridor through mountainous terrain, quarry highwall slope stability, and the WRTSF performance.
• Conduct regular inspections to track ground performance, detect early signs of instability, and ensure that work is executed in accordance with design and approved plans.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot monitoring instrumentation.
• Conduct drone photogrammetry campaigns for mapping, terrain analysis, structural analyses, volumetric assessments, and geohazard inspections.
• Complete surface surveys, including feature pickup and design layout stakeout for construction and/or excavation projects.
• Analyze and report monitoring data to identify trends and communicate geotechnical risks.
• Provide safety leadership with a strong focus on process safety and culture.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPs).
• Maintain WRTSF performance, construction, and operational records.
• Project management of various geotechnical projects and consultant studies.
• Co-ordinate and monitor the safety, quality, schedule, cost and completeness of Suppliers work.
• Support annual updates of governing operational reports.
• Communicate complex risks/hazards to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
• Collaborate closely with Mine Operations, Technical Services, Environment, Engineer of Record (EoR), Consultants, and site leadership teams.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

• Bachelor's Degree in Geological Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional registration (P.Eng or EIT) or eligibility for immediate registration with EGBC.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering, rock mechanics, soil mechanics, hydrology, mine design, and practical mine operations.
• Demonstrated experience in geotechnical instrumentation, monitoring, data analysis, soil mechanics, slope stability, and risk mitigation.
• Competence in geotechnical and hydrological tools, data collection, and relevant monitoring systems.
• Tailings experience is an asset
• Drone pilot license is an asset
• Hydrogeochemistry experience is an asset
• Working knowledge of risk management and business improvement principles.
• Foundational project and/or contract management experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• Commitment to safe work practices and stopping unsafe work when necessary.

The Brucejack Operations team is now recruiting for the position of Engineer, Site Projects - Geotechnical , with a competitive base salary between $94,100 - $125,400 /year , with an additional short-term incentive of 15% . The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity. The expected salary range for this role is CA$94,100 - $125,400 / year . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
