Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. The committee also plans holiday decorations, charity raffles, and outdoor events, helping create a warm and friendly community.Your ImpactAs an Apprentice, Heavy Duty Mechanic Underground , you will play a key role in maintaining and servicing heavy equipment and power generation systems at the Brucejack Mine site. Your work will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to support critical site operations.As Part of Our Team, You Will Work under the guidance of qualified Journeyman Mechanics to service and repair heavy equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on mobile equipment, generators, and fixed machinery. Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues using specialized tools and testing equipment. Adjust and replace defective parts or components to restore equipment functionality. Test repaired equipment to meet manufacturer specifications and operational standards. Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance to maximize equipment lifespan. Assist in servicing attachments and working tools such as blades, winches, and plows. Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Participate in ongoing training and development programs. Ensure compliance with all relevant Newmont Health & Safety procedures and other relevant policies. Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role Basic mechanical knowledge in automotive, heavy-duty equipment, or power generation. Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in power generation maintenance and operations. Experience with heavy-duty machinery, power generation, or underground equipment is an asset. Valid driver’s license for site vehicles. WHMIS and TDG certifications (or willingness to obtain). The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity.
