Physical Design Manager for SoC Implementation
Astera Labs
Lead the Physical Design team at Astera Labs in Toronto, specializing in complex SoC implementations. Oversee ASIC execution and mentor engineers in the Signal Connectivity Group. Astera Labs is looking for a Physical Design Engineering Manager with more than ten years of experience and at least two years in leadership. Your hands-on knowledge of the physical design flow will facilitate the successful delivery of high-speed connectivity solutions such as PCIe and Ethernet retimers. This role is critical in guiding projects from RTL to GDSII while developing engineering talent. Key Responsibilities:
- Drive physical design execution from floorplan to tapeout
- Lead a team of physical design engineers in Toronto
- Ensure design convergence across multiple disciplines and vendors
- Establish best practices and quality checks for design flows
- Collaborate with global teams to maintain standards
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred
- 10+ years of experience with complex SoCs
- 2+ years of managing engineering teams
- Proficient in Cadence and Synopsys tools
- Solid scripting skills in Tcl, Python, or Perl
