Instructor for Online Governance Course

Empower students as an Online Instructor for the Governance and Administration course (JSGS 801.3) at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy in Fall 2026. Teach 30-35 graduate students in a fully online format. This term position runs from September 2 to December 7, 2026, and seeks individuals with a Master’s degree in public administration or a closely related field; PhD is advantageous. Applicants should hold experience teaching at the graduate level, ideally in a public service context, to ensure effective delivery of the course content. Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct and engage students in an online environment
- Evaluate and provide feedback on student work
- Ensure academic rigor through course content
- Create a supportive learning community
- Coordinate with other faculty on instructional strategies
- Minimum Master’s degree in relevant area; PhD preferred
- Experience teaching in post-secondary settings
- Solid public service background
- Commitment to promoting inclusive education
- Ability to manage asynchronous course delivery
