GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Brachytherapy Nurse Lead is responsible for providing holistic cancer care to patients over the spectrum of the oncology experience: assessment, intervention, treatment administration and follow-up in the ambulatory setting. The Brachytherapy Nurse Lead will participate in patient/family education, make pertinent nursing assessments, collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and provide appropriate interventions.
This position reports to the Manager of Systemic Therapy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelors degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Completion of the Oncology nursing certification CON(C) is an asset
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- 3 Years of Brachytherapy nursing experience within the last 5 years.
- Graduate of an advanced nursing specialty program in operating room or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Membership:
- Licensed with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Membership in the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) an asset
- Membership in Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) an asset Knowledge and Skills:
