The Opportunity

Our client, Argen Canada, is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their onsite Finance team at their Kelowna head office.

This role is perfect for a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and takes pride in transforming data into insight which can be actioned. You’ll be a key team member and have a clear path to more senior finance roles as you and the business grows.

What You’ll Do

You’ll influence business decisions through accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting.

Specifically, You Will

• Manage general ledger entries, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support month- and year-end closes.
• Execute day-to-day AP, payroll data preparation, expense and credit card administration, and bank reconciliations to support accurate and timely financial operations.
• Prepare reports, audits, and compliance filings that meet regulatory and corporate standards.
• Analyze and interpret data to uncover trends, explain variances, and provide actionable insights that contribute to operational and strategic decisions.
• Perform cost and margin analysis, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and strengthen financial performance.
• Contribute to streamlining accounting processes, that save time and reduce errors.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys accountability, takes initiative and likes to learn and grow.

What You Bring

You’ll succeed if you have:

• Accounting or Finance degree/diploma.
• CPA (in progress or completed) preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in reconciliations, journal entries, compliance.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, variance analysis; advanced Excel; BI/reporting tools an asset.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (QAD desirable).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking abilities.
• The ability to build strong relationships.
• An eye for detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
