Are you passionate about marketing, communications, digital engagement, and creating content that connects with audiences?

As a Marketing and Communications Co-op , you'll gain hands-on experience supporting marketing campaigns, customer communications, internal communications, and community engagement initiatives within a collaborative corporate environment.

Working with our team during the Winter 2027 Co-op Term , you'll contribute to the development, execution, and evaluation of marketing and communications initiatives while working alongside experienced Marketing, Brand, and Communications professionals. You'll support campaign coordination, content creation, digital communications, website initiatives, and reporting activities that help connect Nova Scotia Power with customers, employees, and communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for students who enjoy a mix of marketing, communications, content development, digital engagement, and project coordination . You'll contribute to meaningful projects, strengthen your professional writing and communication skills, and gain valuable experience that can help launch a career in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, or stakeholder engagement.

What you'll do:

• Assist with the execution, planning, and coordination of marketing campaigns and communications projects.
• Coordinate and manage external email campaigns and requests using Mailchimp .
• Support web-related initiatives for nspower.ca , including landing page development, copywriting, content updates, page audits, analytics reporting, and user experience improvements.
• Support internal communications by developing and distributing timely, relevant content through employee newsletters, announcements, and other communication channels.
• Assist with content development and planning for creative requests and content shoots, including video, photography, and written communications.
• Participate in community events as opportunities arise, representing Nova Scotia Power in a professional and positive manner.
• Maintain administrative tracking tools and support regular reporting activities, including campaign schedules, budget tracking, and meeting documentation.
• Provide additional support for ad hoc projects and requests as business needs require.

Who you are:

We're looking for a curious, creative student who enjoys communications, content creation, and working collaboratively on a variety of projects. You will be a strong candidate if you:

• Are currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Journalism, Digital Media , or a related field.
• Have experience through coursework, volunteer work, student organizations, internships, co-op placements, or personal projects related to marketing, communications, content creation, or event coordination.
• Have experience creating written content for digital, web, social media, academic, or professional audiences, which is considered an asset.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate content.
• Are proficient with Microsoft Office , including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Have familiarity with digital communication platforms, content management systems, email marketing tools such as Mailchimp , or social media platforms.
• Can gather, organize, and communicate information effectively to both internal and external audiences.
• Have knowledge of website content management, basic SEO principles, or digital marketing practices, which is considered an asset.
• Have experience analyzing communication or marketing metrics and preparing reports, which is considered an asset.
• Demonstrate initiative, creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
