Senior Mine Waste Engineer in GTA

This pivotal role focuses on tailings and mine waste management throughout the lifecycle of complex mining projects. Join a dynamic Mine Waste team at WSP, where you will lead the design and optimization of tailings storage facilities. Your expertise in geotechnical engineering will contribute to safe and sustainable mining practices across Canada. You’ll also foster client relationships while guiding junior engineers in their development. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize tailings storage facilities and waste systems
- Assess slope stability and drainage using advanced engineering principles
- Deliver engineering analyses, reports, and specifications
- Facilitate dam safety reviews and risk assessments
- Mentor junior engineers and strengthen team capabilities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering
- 8–12+ years of experience in mine waste engineering
- Familiarity with Canadian regulatory frameworks
- Proficient in geotechnical analysis software
- Professional Engineer designation in Ontario or eligibility
