Senior AI/ML Engineer

What is the opportunity?

We are RBC Insurance, building cutting‑edge AI solutions for the insurance industry. In this role, you will collaborate with data scientists, product owners, and engineering teams to develop, deploy and monitor machine‑learning models that drive business outcomes such as claims automation, customer segmentation and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize machine‑learning models for insurance use cases, including RAG systems and agentic AI platforms.
• Implement scalable ML pipelines and CI/CD processes for seamless model deployment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate AI models into existing workflows.
• Maintain monitoring and governance frameworks, ensuring model performance, fairness and compliance.
• Apply harness engineering concepts to steer AI system behavior and establish safety mechanisms.
• Document processes, pipelines and best practices for knowledge sharing.
• Support production applications and provide post‑hour/on‑call assistance as needed.
• Engage with emerging technologies, share insights and improve existing systems.

Must Have Qualifications

• Strong programming in Python, Java or C++.
• 2+ years of model development and optimization experience.
• Hands‑on use of Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI APIs, Airflow, Spark or Pandas.
• Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure and MLOps tools such as SageMaker, Lambda, or Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of NLP tasks: entity recognition, summarization, text classification.
• Knowledge of software‑development principles, design patterns, testing and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with harness engineering concepts and agentic governance.

Nice to Have

• Graduation in science, mathematics, statistics or engineering.
• Experience with Agentic Development Life Cycle, agentic governance, and RAG systems.
• Critical thinking, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
• Project management and collaboration experience.
• Knowledge of responsible AI and context engineering.
