Marketing Specialist, Digital Marketing

Cleve's Source for Sports is a locally owned, Atlantic Canadian sporting goods retailer that's been outfitting Maritimers since opening its first store in downtown Halifax in 1947. With locations across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, we combine hometown roots and expert service with the buying power of Canada's largest sporting goods buying group. We’re now investing seriously in our digital presence, and we’re looking for the person to own it.



The Role


Reporting to the Director of Strategic Development, the Marketing Specialist, Digital Media will lead the creation and execution of engaging digital content that strengthens Cleve's online presence and connects with communities across Atlantic Canada.


This is a hands-on, creative, high-visibility role. You will touch everything Cleve’s does online - the content on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, our Google presence across all 16 stores, and the voice of the brand in every comment and review. You’ll personally shoot and edit short-form video every week, and you’ll spend real time on the road: monthly visits to our Halifax-area stores, quarterly visits across Nova Scotia, and twice-yearly trips to Yarmouth and New Brunswick stores, batch-filming content with our retail staff. Between visits, you’ll coach staff across the chain to capture raw footage and turn their clips into publishable content. This is not a desk-only strategy job - you are the creator, editor, publisher, and community manager, with the mandate and support of ownership behind you.



Duties & Responsibilities:

• Own the content strategy, creation, and publishing process across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Develop, film, edit, and publish engaging short-form video content on an ongoing basis.
• Stay informed on emerging social media trends and identify opportunities to increase audience engagement.
• Travel regularly to Cleve's retail locations to capture content including staff profiles, product education, community partnerships, store highlights, and event coverage.
• Partner with store teams to capture user-generated content and transform raw footage into polished, brand-aligned social media assets.
• Ensure a strong local presence across all content through geotagging, community partnerships, and sport-specific engagement strategies.
• Manage and maintain Google Business Profiles for all store locations, including monitoring and responding to customer reviews.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to support major retail campaigns, seasonal promotions, and special events.
• Monitor social media and digital performance metrics, providing ongoing insights and monthly reporting to leadership.
• Maintain a consistent and authentic brand voice across all digital channels.

Qualifications & Experience:


The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with strong technical skills and a passion for connecting brands with communities.


You bring:

• 1-3 years of experience managing business social media accounts, including TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Demonstrated experience creating engaging digital content for brands, organizations, or businesses.
• Strong photography, videography, and video editing skills, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
• Confidence appearing on camera and creating authentic, audience-focused content.
• Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
• Strong understanding of social media analytics, engagement strategies, and content performance metrics.
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
• Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field is considered an asset.
• A passion for sports, recreation, and community engagement is highly desirable.
