This role ensures sustained continuity of technical mastery and line leadership in manufacturing. The Line Manager leads a key production line, delivering results that align with the site’s business objectives. They use a systematic, strategic approach to sustain long‑term results and develop others to maintain technical mastery.
How you will contribute
In your first managerial role you will ensure that safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets are met for the lines you oversee. You will break down section targets into line and unit targets, ensuring employees understand their performance goals. Additionally, you will develop budgets, manage cost control, governance, compliance, loss elimination and workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, development, succession planning and identification of high‑potential team members.

- Autonomous maintenance (AM) Step 4 systems and progressive maintenance (PM) Step 3 systems
- Maintaining equipment at basic conditions independently, including execution of AM & PM standards on dedicated equipment
- Total productive maintenance and Six Sigma, including qualification of AM steps 5‑6 and PM step 3
- Leading line teams
- Handling challenging interpersonal situations tactfully
- Influencing people in a union environment
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and paying attention to detail
Education
Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Bachelor’s in science or engineering is preferred.
Requirements
- 3‑5 years of operational experience
- 3‑5 years of leadership experience
- 3‑5 years of continuous improvement experience
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Direct activities on the line to meet overall performance objectives for safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale while managing staffing, recruitment and training. Specific actions include:
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, cost, and delivery standards (TIR, QRP/STOP, BOS, RFT, CCPM, etc.)
- Managing labor efficiencies, product trials, schedule changes and GMP/Health & Safety compliance
- Performing root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Delivering at least one structured improvement project per year
- Leading the line Technical Support Team to follow AM/PM plans per the site master plan
- Managing workforce planning, hiring, training, and performance reviews
- Maintaining accurate time‑keeping, reporting, and KPI communication
Work Schedule
This position operates on a 12‑hour continental shift rotation. You must be available to work a rotating schedule that includes days, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Salary and Benefits
The expected base salary range is $76,800 – $96,000 CAD, depending on experience, skills, education and budget. The role is eligible for a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 8 %. Benefits include health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave, education programs, and enhanced vacation and holiday entitlements.
