Business Systems Analyst / Data Analyst
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 4 months through October 2026, with strong likelihood of extension
Interview Process: 2–3 rounds (virtual and/or in-person)
We are seeking a strong Data Analyst or data-focused Business Systems Analyst with hands-on Python and SQL experience for a hybrid contract opportunity in Toronto. Candidates with experience supporting financial regulatory compliance, risk reporting, or regulatory monitoring environments are highly preferred.
Role Overview:
This role combines data analysis, database development, regulatory monitoring, and stakeholder/vendor coordination. The successful candidate will support data modernization initiatives, regulatory reporting and monitoring processes, and migration of Excel-based workflows into structured database environments.
Key Requirements:
- Strong Python and SQL development skills for data analysis, transformation, and reporting
- Experience working with large datasets, data validation, and database development
- Exposure to regulatory compliance, risk reporting, audit, or monitoring processes within financial services
- Experience with Teradata and Excel
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
Preferred:
- OSFI regulatory experience
- Power BI or Tableau
- Jira and Confluence
- Vendor management or third-party data provider coordination
