HR Coordinator

We are seeking a service-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources team and support our growing manufacturing operations.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys employee and manager support, HR administration, records management, reporting, and process coordination within a fast-paced unionized manufacturing environment.

Please note: Manufacturing experience is a mandatory requirement for this position. Applicants without prior manufacturing experience will not be considered. This is a fully on-site position requiring attendance five (5) days per week. The successful candidate must also be flexible to occasionally support off-shift operations for a few hours outside of regular business hours, as required.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources team, the HR Coordinator provides day-to-day HR support to employees and managers across our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will help maintain HR records, coordinate HR processes, respond to employee inquiries, prepare reports, and support HR initiatives while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and collective agreement requirements.

This position does not include recruitment, payroll administration, benefits administration, or health and safety responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries and provide timely support and guidance.
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
• Prepare HR reports, metrics, tracking logs, and workforce-related data for management.
• Administer employee lifecycle transactions, including new hires, employment changes, leaves, layoffs, recalls, and terminations.
• Support employee onboarding and orientation activities.
• Prepare HR correspondence, letters, forms, and employment-related documentation.
• Coordinate and track employee probationary reviews, performance review processes, and other HR programs.
• Assist with attendance, overtime, seniority, and workforce-related record maintenance and reporting.
• Maintain HR files in accordance with legislative and company retention requirements.
• Support collective agreement administration by assisting with seniority tracking, employee status updates, and HR documentation.
• Coordinate employee communication initiatives and HR-related announcements.
• Assist with policy administration and distribution of employee communications.
• Ensure HR systems and employee data are maintained accurately and updated in a timely manner.
• Generate ad hoc reports and provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives.
• Perform other HR administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting employees and managers in a unionized workplace.
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CHRP designation or working toward a designation is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of HR administration, employee records management, and HR compliance requirements.
• Experience maintaining confidential employee information and records.
• Advanced organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with HRIS systems; Dayforce experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and customer-service orientation.

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00
