Primary Objective of the Position:
Safe and timely processing of Cargo and aircraft loading/offloading within prescribed parameters.
Essential Position Functions:
- Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks.
- Operating ground support equipment.
- Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs.
- Sort packages based on customer airport of destination and other parameters.
- Communicate piece counts and package information to Lead Hands and Supervisors.
- Handle customer packages and freight with due care and attention.
- Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
- Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance.
- Meet time-sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic.
- Learn and apply specific training modules required for the position (WHMIS SMS Dangerous Goods Hazard Prevention etc.).
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Working in and around aircraft daily.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance).
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to work within a team first environment and complete common goals within time-sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent punctuality and attendance habits.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to fast-changing customer requirements.
- Willingness to take direction with a keen interest in further development within the local operation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible to work shift work weekends and stat holidays.
- Be willing to be subject to a background check; clearance is required.
- Be willing to work outside.
