Vice President, Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Marketing based in Canada. The Vice President, Marketing will be a strategic, growth-oriented executive responsible for building and executing an integrated marketing and go-to-market strategy. Reporting to the CRO and working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, this leader will connect corporate objectives to measurable pipeline and revenue outcomes. The role oversees Marketing and Business Development, with a strong focus on team performance, market positioning, demand generation, and commercial growth. You will work closely with Sales, Product, Professional Services, Customer Success, Finance, and executive leadership to create a coordinated revenue engine. The position combines strategic leadership with disciplined execution, data-driven decision-making, and executive-level communication. Success will include strengthening market presence, improving funnel performance, and establishing scalable GTM practices that support continued growth. Accountabilities - Develop and execute an integrated marketing and go-to-market strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives, revenue targets, and expansion priorities. - Translate corporate strategy into clear market positioning, messaging, campaigns, demand-generation programs, and customer acquisition initiatives. - Strengthen brand visibility, thought leadership, competitive positioning, and market presence within the GovTech SaaS landscape. - Lead the Marketing and Business Development organizations, including organizational structure, talent development, priorities, performance management, KPIs, and operating rhythms. - Build a high-performing, accountable, and data-driven team aligned with the organization's highest-value growth opportunities. - Own pipeline generation and demand-generation strategy across lead acquisition, campaigns, events, content, digital marketing, and related channels.

- Partner with Sales to strengthen lead-generation, qualification, conversion, and customer journey processes. - Use market intelligence, customer insights, analytics, and attribution models to optimize marketing investment and demonstrate contribution to pipeline and revenue. - Serve as a strategic member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to corporate planning, growth initiatives, organizational strategy, and executive decision-making. - Support the CRO and CEO with board-level reporting, GTM metrics, business performance updates, market analysis, risks, and growth opportunities. - Partner with Finance and executive leadership on budgets, forecasting, resource allocation, and marketing and business development ROI. - Maintain a strong understanding of municipal and government technology markets, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and emerging trends. - Develop market intelligence and customer insights that inform product, sales, corporate, and GTM decisions. - Build relationships with industry organizations, strategic partners, and influential stakeholders within the market. - Establish a scalable GTM operating model and measurable Marketing and Business Development framework that supports sustained growth. - Within the first 12–18 months, establish clear GTM strategy and KPIs, strengthen the Marketing and BD organization, increase qualified pipeline and funnel conversion, enhance market positioning, improve ROI measurement, and position Marketing as a strategic partner across the organization. Requirements - 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including significant experience leading B2B SaaS or technology marketing functions. - Demonstrated success developing and executing growth-focused go-to-market strategies connected to pipeline and revenue outcomes. - Experience leading multiple marketing disciplines and, ideally, Business Development or BDR functions.
