You as a Senior Accountant will:  

• Perform accounting and internal reporting functions, including invoicing, monitoring and following up on outstanding receivables, and assisting with the purchases and payables accounting process


• Ensure timely and accurate approval and processing of invoices for certain EllisDon divisions


• Support with A/R collection and perform A/R duties such as cash receipts and bank reconciliations


• Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis, monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare and record journal entries and cost allocations, and perform other required accounting functions and analysis


• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial analysis to compare actuals to budget


• Assist with corporate month-end internal reporting and prepare monthly reporting packages for Head Office


• Assist with external audits by preparing working papers and providing supporting documentation throughout the audit process


• Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to project teams


• Assist the Head Office accounting department with other projects, as needed

This is the right role for you if: 

• You have at least 3 years of experience working in a corporate accounting or public accounting role


• You possess strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel


• You are a well-organized, proactive and detail oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment


• You are motivated and eager to take on new challenges that come your way


• You have excellent communication skills


• You have strong attention to detail and can offer process improvements and innovative solutions
