Company DescriptionLocated in the heart of Canada's capital next door to the Parliament Buildings, the landmark Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa is looking to fill a role of Room Attendant.What Is In It For YouWonderful company culture - our colleagues are at the heart of all that we doFood & Beverage discount of 50% in our restaurantsEmployee benefit card offering discounted rates in Accor worldwide for you and your familyLearning programs through our academies designed to sharpen your skillsAbility to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21Comprehensive extended health benefits packageFull rate of pay of $25.26/hourReporting to the Housekeeping Leadership Team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offer welcoming, friendly and warm service to external and internal guestsProvide intuitive service, engaging with external and internal guests and anticipating their needsCommunicate any specific guest requests or concerns with a Housekeeping leaderTake ownership of guests’ privacy and belongings, while ensuring exceptional serviceReturn and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping OfficeClean and sanitize all assigned guestrooms and public spaces including: dusting, making beds, soiled linen/garbage removal from rooms, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning and disinfecting, cleaning furniture, inside window cleaning and replenishing rooms with suppliesParticipate in deep cleaning of rooms as requiredMaintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipmentConsistently update and record all cleaned roomsFollow detailed cleaning standards in both stayover and vacant rooms as set through our ALL Safe – Stay Well, Leading Quality Assurance and Accor’s brand standardsFollow all safety & sanitation policies and work safely to prevent injuryFoster positive cross departmental relationships to create a seamless experienceReport any maintenance needs required in guest rooms, service areas and public spacesAbility to work weekends, holidays and shift work as scheduledPerform other related duties and follow hotel standards as assignedQualificationsPrevious housekeeping experience an assetExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisionAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesAdditional InformationPhysical Aspects Of Position (included But Not Limited To)Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsFrequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsFairmont Château Laurier is proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process.
