Who we are
At Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, we believe education is more than the pursuit of knowledge – it is a catalyst for transformation. Our mission, grounded in democratizing education, is to create access for learners from every background and empower them to achieve their aspirations and advance their careers.
We are committed to delivering rigorous, flexible programs that are both personally fulfilling and professionally rewarding, while contributing to the betterment of society. Since 2004, Yorkville has been among Canada’s few private, for-profit, fully accredited degree-granting universities, with campuses in Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick. Together with Toronto Film School, we offer creative and academic pathways at both the college and university levels, cultivating a multidisciplinary environment where innovation and the arts converge.
Our community is vibrant and diverse. Many of our learners are adults balancing education with careers and personal commitments. Every member of our team – whether in teaching, operations, or technology – is dedicated to removing barriers and expanding access. Together, we deliver flexible, industry-informed learning that leads to meaningful opportunities.
At our core is human connection – guiding people to reimagine their futures in a community defined by opportunity, creativity, and growth.
Who we need
Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions (ADOA), we are hiring an Admissions Advisor to join our team. As our new Admissions Advisor, you will inspire and guide prospective students interested in advancing their careers through the programs offered by Toronto Film School. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will connect with prospective students, follow up on marketing-generated leads, understand each applicant's goals, and help them navigate the admissions process with confidence from initial inquiry through enrollment.
This is a remote role based in Ontario, with the ability to attend campus 2–3 times per term for events.
What’s in it for you
Meaningful impact. This is a consultative, relationship-based sales role with a meaningful purpose: helping people change the trajectory of their lives through education. As the first point of contact for individuals exploring higher education, you will support prospective students in taking meaningful steps toward their academic and long-term career goals. Representing Toronto Film School, you will connect with people exploring opportunities in film, television, acting, writing, video game design, graphic design, and other creative fields. Your conversations will help students find programs that align with their ambitions, lifestyle, and professional realities, opening doors to new opportunities and lasting impact.
A mission-driven sales role. You will apply your sales skills to help people invest in themselves through education. You will receive structured onboarding, ongoing coaching, and continuous feedback to help you succeed in a highly KPI-driven environment. Whether you come from fitness, automotive, luxury retail, or another relationship-based sales environment, this role will allow you to channel your strengths into work that is both financially rewarding and deeply fulfilling.
Unlimited earning potential. You will work with marketing-generated leads and prospective students who have expressed interest in our programs, allowing you to focus on meaningful conversations. With uncapped commission, you have direct ownership over your results and earning potential while building trusted relationships and guiding prospective students toward programs that fit their goals and lifestyle.
How you will make an impact
- Exceed expectations. You will engage with prospective students through timely, supportive follow-up on warm leads and inquiries, consistent outbound outreach, follow-up, and pipeline management. You will build trust and develop a deeper understanding of each prospective student’s creative, academic, and career goals, helping them explore the Toronto Film School program that best aligns with what they want to achieve. You will ensure program alignment and support students through the full application journey from initial interest through to registration and course access.
- Champion and promote. You will represent Toronto Film School at recruitment events and through ongoing outreach initiatives. You will build your knowledge of our programs, learning experiences, student services, and the creative industries they prepare students to enter, sharing relevant information that helps prospective students picture themselves at Toronto Film School and make an informed decision about their education.
- Ensure compliance. You will support the collection, review, and use of admissions data in accordance with policies, procedures, and provincial legislation. Your work will uphold the integrity of the institution and ensure a consistent, compliant admissions process.
- Collaborate and contribute. You will work closely with colleagues across teams to support shared objectives and occasional cross-functional initiatives. You will contribute to a positive, inclusive culture that values equity, learning, wellness, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver on activity and performance metrics. You will operate in a structured, KPI-driven environment with daily, weekly, and quarterly targets related to outbound calls, pipeline activity, and enrollments. You will manage multiple prospective students at different stages of the admissions cycle while maintaining detailed and accurate records in CRM systems.
What you bring
- Proven sales performance. You have a track record of meeting or exceeding targets in a relationship-based sales environment. You have a proven ability to convert warm leads into outcomes, leveraging sales and marketing collateral to drive engagement, and using CRM tools and technology to manage, track, and progress prospects through the funnel.
- Initiative and resilience. You take action when challenges arise, look for opportunities to improve outcomes, and maintain a strong, positive attitude in both high and low periods. You step into difficult situations, take ownership, and push forward even when faced with obstacles, rejection, or ambiguity.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills. You are an active listener and consultative seller who builds trust through clear, empathetic, and confident communication. You excel at phone-based relationship-building, asking thoughtful questions and influencing decisions by understanding motivations, addressing concerns, and aligning solutions with individual goals. You have a genuine passion for the creative arts, including film, television, and gaming, and are excited to connect with prospective students who want to turn their creativity into an education and career path. You are comfortable working with both prospective students and internal academic or administrative partners.
- Drive, ownership, and follow-through. You bring an entrepreneurial mindset to your work and take ownership of your pipeline and results. You are motivated by goals, performance metrics, and financial rewards, and you thrive in a role where persistence, organization, and follow-up are critical to success. You can manage multiple applications or case files with discretion and confidentiality. You are self-disciplined, adaptable, and effective, working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
