Health and Safety Advisor

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, the HSE Advisor (Site) is responsible for overseeing the implementation, monitoring, and reporting aspects of the Projects Safety Plan. The HSE Advisor serves as a frontline resource  providing support, advice, and practical assistance on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) matters to Management, Supervisors, Foremen, and Workers across the project site.

Responsibilities:
Provide the Project Manager and Site Supervision with the technical advice and services needed for effective administration of the HSE program
Maintain current knowledge of legislative changes, industry trends, and evolving practices in Health, Safety, and Environmental management
Lead effective implementation of the hazard and risk assessment process, ensuring the correct level of control is applied to identified risk factors
Maintain the project incident reporting and data collection system; coordinate investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed expediently
Assist line management in incident prevention, investigation, analysis, and preparation of incident reports and summaries
Assist in the development of effective corrective actions where deficiencies are identified through investigations or inspections

Qualifications:
35 years of related work experience in the mining and/or commercial/industrial construction industry
Current Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation preferred
Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
