Experienced Director of Internal Audit for High-Stakes Environments

Drive internal audit success as an experienced Director in a flexible work model. Engage in strategic initiatives that strengthen risk management and governance in a regulated setting. This position is focused on delivering comprehensive audit leadership across a large portfolio of operations. Collaborate with executive leaders and stakeholders to evaluate and enhance internal control structures. You'll be instrumental in following up on findings, mentoring audit teams, and preparing influential presentations for governance committees. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight for internal audit initiatives
- Plan and execute detailed audit engagements
- Review and validate management's action plans
- Partner with executives for risk-based recommendations
- Monitor compliance and assurance-related activities
- Minimum 5–7 years' experience in internal audit
- CPA, CIA, or equivalent certification preferred
- Background in insurance or financial services
- Demonstrated leadership in previous audit roles
- Strong knowledge of control frameworks like COSO
