Overview of the role

Within the Corporate Internal Audit team at Saputo, we are seeking an Internal Auditor to participate in the planning and execution of mandates in the following areas:

Operational Audits , Risk Management , Financial Compliance (52‑109) .

Responsibilities

• Operational Audits
  • Conduct risk‑based audits to assess the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of key business processes and operations.
  • Plan and execute fieldwork, understand processes, assess risks, identify key controls, design audit procedures, and test control effectiveness.
  • Formulate, document, and discuss deficiencies with control owners, develop conclusions, identify root causes, and provide recommendations for control and process improvements.
  • Draft audit report findings and document the results of engagements.
  • Perform follow‑up reviews to validate evidence that management action plans have been effectively implemented.
  • Provide periodic updates to team members on the status of assigned work.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of audit execution using templates, dashboards, and automation/standardization opportunities (e.g., Excel models, Power BI reporting, data extracts).
• Risk Management
  • Assist in the planning and execution of risk management assessments.
  • Identify, maintain, and analyze key risk indicators (KRIs), highlight trends in risks, and support discussions with stakeholders.
  • With supervision, identify mitigations that address identified risks.
  • Support preparation of periodic risk management updates or related reports.
  • Collaborate on other risk assessment mandates and support documentation and reporting of results to management.
• Financial Compliance (52‑109)
  • Support the Financial Compliance team to conduct controls testing for assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Review control supporting evidence, ensuring audit conclusions are well supported and documented.
  • Participate in advisory mandates, providing recommendations on control design or operation to improve the control environment.
  • Support internal audit with ad‑hoc and special requests from management and the Audit Committee related to governance, risk, and controls.
  • Assist in various strategic initiatives of the Internal Audit department to help achieve the company’s objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional designation or in process of completion (CPA, CIA, CFE, or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of experience in audit; internal audit or operational audit experience is a plus.
• Strong critical and analytical skills, sound judgement, and ability to work independently in a team‑oriented environment.
• Bilingual (English and French) with professional working proficiency in both.
• Understanding of generally accepted auditing standards, common audit procedures and techniques, and risk management frameworks; knowledge of IFRS, COSO, NI 52‑109 is required.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with data analytics techniques and strong working knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
• Knowledge of ERP systems; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
• Acts as an ethical, proactive, and objective professional, engaging others with warmth, sincerity, and transparency.
• Accepts personal responsibility for delivering results, manages and prioritizes workload in a constantly changing environment, ensuring quality of work while meeting deadlines.
• Travel 5%–10% within Canada, United States, United Kingdom, or Australia.

• Annual salary range $68,630 to $90,080 (commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training).
