Job Responsibility:
Official Internal Job Title: Commercial Insurance Underwriter Status: Temporary (Fixed Term) : The successful candidate for this contract position will be naturally a curious, enthusiastic, team player who is able to efficiently and accurately offer best in class service to our portfolio of Broker partners. The position requires strong attention to detail and organization; an ability to prioritize and successfully manage accountabilities within a fast paced and high-volume environment. Summary of Role & Responsibilities: - Provide exceptional service to your assigned brokers alongside the Production & Portfolio Underwriters with respect to new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, certificates, etc.
- Assess risks, underwrite and process at a level of moderate risk for policy changes and renewals
- Operate department phone queue
- Record underwriting info for the purpose of evaluation, assessment, audit & profitability
- Educate Broker partners about Unica's target market and strategy
- Identify opportunities to support Unica's strategy and analyze and report identified trends to management
- Other duties as required
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: - A detail oriented and analytical thinker
- Self-motivated, innovative and naturally enthusiastic
- Strong communicator in all varieties (written, verbal and presentation skills)
- Excellent time management skills in order to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Exceptional phone etiquette
- Must be flexible with hours of work as required
Education and Experience: - University/College degree
- CIP/CRM obtained or working towards one or both of these designations
