In-Home Senior Caregiver and Companion - Immediate Start (East Vancouver near the PNE)

I'm currently in need of an experienced in-home senior caregiver for my dear elderly mother who lives with dementia and has recently become a widow. This role is situated in East Vancouver near the PNE and requires an immediate start, preferably from the 22nd of July, 2026. My aim is to provide a safe, stable, and fulfilling environment for my mother, enabling her to maintain her independence for as long as possible. The ideal candidate is a kind-hearted individual residing in Canada, capable of starting at short notice. If you understand or can speak Italian, it would certainly be a plus. This full-time position requires live-in arrangements. Responsibilities would include:

• Providing wholesome companionship and emotional support in a meaningful manner.
• Assisting with morning/evening routines, personal care, and daily activities.
• Monitoring and reminding mother of daily medication intake.
• Preparing nutritious homemade meals, managing general housekeeping chores including laundry, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, and dishwashing.
• Supervising and assisting with conditions like dementia-related behaviors (for example, answering repetitive questions, managing confusion) with patience and redirection.
• Having skills or willingness to work with arthritis conditions.

Please note, while a driver's license is not mandatory, it would be beneficial if you could drive my mother to various locations. However, the use of an automobile is not applicable in this role. The work schedule required will be 30 to 40 hours per week and the exact times will be needed to be worked out for the week. However, it is mandatory that you would be there to sleep each night. For the role, immediate legal authorization to work in Canada is essential. It's also important that you undergo an up-to-date criminal record check/vulnerable sector screening and provide excellent verifiable local references.
