Interim Controller

About Our Client
Our client is looking to hire an Interim Controller on a 6-month contract basis.

About the Opportunity

• Build and stabilize the accounting function post-acquisition
• Design the chart of accounts and core finance processes from scratch
• Help evaluate, select, and implement the accounting system
• Manage monthly accounting activities in a high-volume e-commerce environment
• Own monthly close and quarterly SEC financial reporting
• Manage AP/AR across a high-volume Shopify-based e-commerce model (small ticket, high transaction count)
• Partner on integrating additional acquisitions into the financial infrastructure
• Collaborate on broader tech stack design (CRM, sales/marketing, KPIs, accounting)

About You

• 7–10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience
• Prior startup or ground-up build experience — comfortable in unstructured environments
• Hands-on operator: willing to roll up sleeves
• Self-starter who can figure things out independently
• Highly collaborative — will work closely with 2–4 stakeholders across themes
• Strong systems implementation experience
• US GAAP familiarity is an asset
• Publicly traded / SEC reporting experience is an asset
• E-commerce or Shopify exposure is an asset
• Experience deploying AI-enabled finance tools is an asset
