Role Overview

Content Manager (Volunteer Position)

The Content Manager plays a key role in shaping and elevating Welfare Avenue’s digital presence and storytelling strategy. This individual will oversee the planning, creation, organization, and optimization of content across all communication platforms while ensuring consistency with the organization’s mission, campaigns, and visual identity.

This role is ideal for a creative and strategic individual who is passionate about social impact, digital communication, and building meaningful engagement through storytelling.

The Content Manager will work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing, content creators, designers, and communications volunteers to help strengthen Welfare Avenue’s visibility, community engagement, and long-term growth.This is a remote volunteer position with an expected commitment of approximately 6 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and manage Welfare Avenue’s content strategy across digital platforms
  • Create and maintain content calendars for social media, campaigns, website updates, and email communications
  • Identify trends, engagement opportunities, and creative initiatives aligned with Welfare Avenue’s mission
  • Ensure all content reflects a consistent tone, message, and visual identity

Content Creation & Oversight

  • Social media posts
  • Videos and reels
  • Graphics and visual campaigns
  • Website content
  • Blogs and written communications
  • Review, edit, and approve content before publication
  • Collaborate with content creators and designers to maintain quality and consistency
  • Support storytelling initiatives that highlight community impact, volunteers, and organizational growth

Social Media & Community Engagement

  • Support and grow Welfare Avenue’s presence across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Monitor engagement, audience behavior, and content performance metrics
  • Recommend adjustments and improvements based on analytics and audience insights
  • Engage with the online community when required through comments, messages, and campaign interactions

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Support and guide content volunteers, creators, and collaborators
  • Work closely with the marketing and communications teams to align content with campaigns and organizational priorities
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and initiatives
  • Help build efficient content workflows and organizational systems

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or graduated from a CEGEP or university program in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Digital Content, or a related field
  • Experience or strong interest in content management, social media strategy, or digital communications
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Understanding of content planning tools, social media platforms, and analytics
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Leadership, collaboration, and project coordination abilities
  • Comfortable appearing on camera or representing Welfare Avenue publicly when needed
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for community impact, creativity, and social change
  • Ability to dedicate a minimum of 6 hours per week

Aperçu du rôle

Gestionnaire de contenu (poste bénévole)

Le ou la Gestionnaire de contenu joue un rôle clé dans le développement de la présence numérique et de la stratégie de communication de Welfare Avenue. Cette personne supervisera la planification, la création, l’organisation et l’optimisation du contenu sur l’ensemble des plateformes de communication de l’organisme, tout en assurant une cohérence avec la mission, les campagnes et l’identité visuelle de Welfare Avenue.

Ce poste est idéal pour une personne créative, stratégique et passionnée par l’impact social, les communications numériques et le storytelling communautaire.

Le ou la Gestionnaire de contenu collaborera étroitement avec le Directeur principal du marketing, les créateurs de contenu, les designers et les bénévoles en communication afin de renforcer la visibilité et l’engagement de Welfare Avenue.

Il s’agit d’un poste bénévole à distance avec un engagement approximatif de 6 heures par semaine.

Responsabilités principales

Stratégie et planification de contenu

  • Développer et gérer la stratégie de contenu numérique de Welfare Avenue
  • Créer et maintenir des calendriers de contenu pour les médias sociaux, campagnes, infolettres et mises à jour du site web
  • Identifier les tendances et opportunités créatives alignées avec la mission de l’organisme
  • Assurer une cohérence du ton, du message et de l’identité visuelle

Création et supervision du contenu

  • Publications pour médias sociaux
  • Vidéos et reels
  • Visuels et campagnes graphiques
  • Contenu web
  • Blogues et communications écrites
  • Réviser, modifier et approuver le contenu avant publication
  • Collaborer avec les créateurs de contenu et designers afin d’assurer la qualité et la cohérence
  • Soutenir les initiatives de storytelling mettant en valeur l’impact communautaire et les bénévoles

Médias sociaux et engagement communautaire

  • Soutenir la croissance de la présence de Welfare Avenue sur Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook et YouTube
  • Analyser les performances et l’engagement des contenus
  • Recommander des ajustements stratégiques basés sur les données et comportements de l’audience
  • Interagir avec la communauté en ligne lorsque nécessaire

Collaboration et leadership

  • Soutenir et encadrer les bénévoles et collaborateurs en contenu
  • Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes marketing et communications
  • Participer aux séances de brainstorming et au développement créatif des campagnes
  • Contribuer à l’amélioration des processus et systèmes de gestion du contenu

Exigences et qualifications

  • Études collégiales ou universitaires en cours ou complétées en marketing, communications, médias, journalisme ou domaine connexe
  • Expérience ou fort intérêt pour la gestion de contenu et les communications numériques
  • Excellentes compétences rédactionnelles et en storytelling
  • Bonne compréhension des plateformes numériques et outils analytiques
  • Excellentes capacités d’organisation et souci du détail
  • Capacité à gérer des projets et travailler en équipe
  • À l’aise devant la caméra ou dans la représentation publique de l’organisme
  • Autonomie et capacité d’adaptation dans un environnement dynamique
  • Intérêt marqué pour l’impact social et le travail communautaire
  • Disponibilité minimale de 6 heures par semaine
