The Senior Project Porfolio Manager will maintain Portfolio-level accountability for nuclear projects in Canada across multiple segments. This portfolio includes about 100 projects within Engineering, Field Services and Parts business lines ranging in size from small to medium with variable complexity, involving significant financial, technical, contractual, schedule, as well as resource commitments and risks. The Project Portfolio Leader provides strategic direction to project management personnel and project participants to optimize short- and long-term risks profile/coverage and profitability supported by Project Operations functions (Contract Management & Project Control). Develop, implement and improve a thorough project portfolio review process that monitors risks, % of completion (CPI, SPI), risks & opportunities, and major financial KPIs with full synchronization with Project Operations functions. Develop a monthly claim review board with Contract Management and Legal as required. Provide project execution strategy and relevant input to Tendering team for new projects. Implement lessons learned across multiple business segments. Accountabilities include Execution Excellence - top safety, quality, on time delivery, improved MAD vs. MAS, while meeting customer satisfaction and developing Project Management Talent Pool. As the execution lead for all Canadian projects, this position is the main interface with clients at management and executive levels, expected to support project challenges in person, as needed. Your Day to Day:

• Responsible - through the performance of project managers - for ensuring world class safety across the portfolio, on-time delivery and highest quality standards, and meet or exceed as-sold financial objectives of all contracts (MAD> MAS), while meeting customer satisfaction.
• Work with Tendering team and partner organizations to formulate project execution strategies and cost estimates for new projects.
• Ensure that Canadian quality requirements are planned for and met during execution by working with Tendering and Quality teams.
• Responsible to meet all project portfolio contract commitments.
• Ensure full adherence to project management processes & tools according to Canadian Quality Assurance program, and any reporting required.
• Maintain consistent portfolio review and monitoring to feed senior management with up-to-date and accurate reports of the portfolio status and specific project status on demand.
• Implement required execution policies in coordination with support functions to streamline methodologies and procedures to improve overall project performance and customer satisfaction.
• Establish load chart with workload covering tendering support and execution needs, vs. capacity taking into consideration vacation, training & sickness, to determine gap between existing staffing and workload requirement. Escalate need to BU Segment leadership (across multiple Segments as required) to adjust staffing (recruitment or re-allocation). Make job assignments, supervise and direct efforts of department personnel, replace or supplement personnel to maintain organizational excellence in full coordination with Project Operations & other Project Portfolio Leaders.
• Coordinate and work closely with Project Operations.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with various stakeholders including external customers and suppliers (while defending WEC interests), internal partners and WEC management.
• Be the single point of contact for project challenges and escalations with clients, effectively liaising with client management and executive levels
• Follow through major claims with relevant project managers, support & defend winning strategies, work closely with support functions and directly interface with clients as required.
• Ensure that each project in the portfolio has a dedicated Project Execution strategy with ambitious goals.
• Ensure that each project in the portfolio has a resource loaded detailed schedule within 2 months after the project start, particularly for complex projects (e.g., projects involving both engineering and hardware supplies).
• Provide direct support in case of significant cost or schedule deviations in any project of the portfolio and involve Project Operations leadership for possible support from BU SWAT team.
• Support financial objectives:
• Manage portfolio of over 100 projects ranging in size from small to medium (up to $20M+) delivering planned annual revenue and DGM to Canada P&L.
• Manage additional projects outside of Canada P&L that are delivered to Canadian customers by collaborating with other project portfolio managers and overseeing their PMs
• Responsible - through the performance of project managers - to meet or exceed as-sold financial objectives of all contracts (MAD> MAS).
• Responsible for direct report of approximately 17 direct personnel plus additional non.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science
  • Advanced degree preferred.
• 10 - 15 years of progressive experience in leading large, complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects.
• Increasing levels of demonstrated project management skills including cost and schedule control, supplier management and recovery of costs, customer management and significant claims transformed into change orders with top & bottom-line impact.
• Expertise leading teams in a winning environment, with responsibility over risks portfolio review and establishing risk mitigation strategies.
• Must have successfully managed projects for more than one discipline (manufacturing, engineering, plant equipment, field services, etc.) to effectively support multiple sectors
• PMP
• Trained and skilled in financial, cost, risk assessment monitoring & mitigation and contract management aspects of managing a project. Demonstrated ability to form and lead highly effective teams.
• Strong strategic planning and people management skills.
• Must have practical knowledge of working in the nuclear industry with a strong appreciation for the importance of Quality Assurance Programs, preferably in Canada.
• Understanding of nuclear supply chain and materials management principles.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills and interpersonal relations to work effectively with internal partners as well as customers.
• Comfortable working in heavily matrixed organizations with competing priorities.
• Lead by example setting high Health and Safety standards.
• Understanding of CANDU Reactor technology is an asset.
