Senior Director - Finance and Administration

BGC Niagara is seeking an experienced financial leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as our Senior Director of Finance and Administration. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive leadership position provides strategic financial leadership while overseeing the organization's administrative and operational services. Based at our Niagara Falls Centre, this role plays a key part in supporting the long-term financial sustainability and operational excellence of one of Niagara's largest charitable organizations.

The Senior Director of Finance and Administration serves as BGC Niagara's senior financial leader, providing strategic oversight of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, audit, investments, and organizational administration.

As one of three Senior Directors reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this position plays a central role in organizational strategy, financial stewardship and long-term sustainability.

Supported by a team of Directors, General Managers and administrative staff, the position maintains executive accountability for finance, information technology, capital assets, health and safety, and operational services across the organization including but not limited to the stewardship of facilities and the delivery of sports, recreation and aquatics programs.

In consultation with the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Director is responsible to ensure all deliverables identified within this position description are achieved in a safe manner, consistent with the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara policy, philosophy and core values of the Boys and Girls Club of Canada and standards set by governing bodies.

· Full-time Salaried position (35 – 44 hours per week)

· Salary: Starting at $90,000 annually, with future growth opportunities based on performance and organizational compensation practices.

· A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;

· A minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in finance, accounting, or business administration, including responsibility for financial management and organizational leadership;

· Professional accounting designation (CPA), or active progression toward a CPA designation, is considered a significant asset;

· Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls;

· Experience presenting financial information and recommendations to senior leadership and/or Boards of Directors is considered an asset;

· Working knowledge of applicable federal and provincial legislation, regulations, and best practices relevant to finance and non-profit operations;

· A current Police Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the past six (6) months, or the ability to obtain one prior to employment;

· A valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with access to a reliable personal vehicle.

Deliverables include, but are not exclusive to, the following:

• Provide strategic financial leadership to the organization through the development of annual operating and capital budgets, multi-year financial plans, cash flow forecasting, investment oversight and financial reporting;
• Monitor organizational financial performance, oversee accounting operations and internal controls, and provide strategic financial recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors;
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, funding agreements, legislative requirements, and organizational financial policies;
• Oversee the annual audit process, banking relationships, investments, organizational reserves, insurance program and enterprise risk management activities;
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial controls, organizational efficiency and long-term sustainability;
• Provide executive oversight of organizational operations through a team of Directors and General Managers responsible for facilities, recreation, aquatics and operational service delivery;
• Lead the implementation of operational plans and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency;
• Ensure organizational compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, funding agreements, and governance standards;
• Oversee information technology systems, cybersecurity, and business systems to support efficient and secure organizational operations;
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with funding agencies, municipalities, financial institutions, auditors, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders;
• Contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team by supporting strategic planning, organizational growth, and long-term sustainability.
• As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will help shape the long-term financial sustainability of one of Niagara's largest charitable organizations while supporting programs and services that positively impact thousands of children, youth and families across the region each year.
