Posting Overview

The Lambton Kent District School Board, serves more than 21,000 students in 50 elementary and 12 secondary schools across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent.

Prospective qualified secondary teachers that meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply.

must be available to start working immediately or once OCT has been processed;

must be available to work a minimum of 3-5 days/week; must be available to work 10 months of the school year; must be willing to travel throughout Chatham-Kent and/or Sarnia-Lambton; must be available to work on a daily occasional basis;
• must be available to work on a last-minute, call-in basis.

Prospective candidates currently enrolled in teachers college are encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants will be expected to commence employment immediately or once they become OCT qualified (for new graduates/current students).

Qualifications/Experience

Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification;

qualifications in French, Ojibwe or Lenape language are an asset; additional qualifications are an asset; demonstrated knowledge of current Ontario curriculum and assessment, evaluation, and reporting practices; excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with students, parents and staff; demonstrates positive interaction and collaboration as part of the school team; applies consistent and fair classroom management; experience working with youth in a variety of settings; experience working with diverse cultures including First Nations, Metis, and Inuit;
• ability to integrate technology into curriculum.
