Senior Legal Counsel for Investments

Elevate your legal career with BDC as a Senior Legal Counsel specializing in Investments. Collaborate with a dedicated legal team to drive venture capital and growth equity initiatives. At BDC, you will support the Assistant Vice-President, Legal Affairs, offering practical legal guidance on investment matters, particularly in complex transactions. You will collaborate closely with internal partners and external lawyers, nurturing a culture of innovation and risk-taking. This role requires significant legal experience in venture capital and private equity, especially while working in a hybrid model from either Montréal or Toronto. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear legal advice on investment projects
- Negotiate business-related agreements during transactions
- Coordinate external legal representatives as needed
- Conduct in-depth research on relevant legal issues
- Coach and guide internal clients on legal matters
- University degree in law
- 5+ years in transactional law, particularly venture capital
- Member of Barreau du Québec or Law Society of Ontario
- Strong analytical and negotiation capabilities
- Bilingualism is an asset
